Client Age Range
I work with adults ages 18 and up, with most clients typically between 18 and 45.
Where Services Are Provided
Therapy should meet you where you are—literally and emotionally. I offer:
Online Therapy: Convenient and secure video sessions via SimplePractice.
In-Person Therapy: Discreet, face-to-face sessions at my Colville office in the Sap and Spruce Building (155 N Wynne St #3, Colville, WA 99114).
What I Offer
Personalized Teletherapy
Tailored support aligned with your values to help you overcome challenges and move forward with clarity, confidence, and resilience.
Holistic, Flexible Approach
I don’t rely on checklists or one-size-fits-all methods. Drawing from several evidence-based models, I tailor therapy to how you think, feel, and process—offering practical tools, fresh insight, and meaningful guidance that aligns with your goals.
Relational Focus
Therapy is most effective when built on trust. I listen deeply so you feel genuinely seen—not just as a client, but as a whole person. Together, we refine what works and adapt when needed.
Support for a Range of Issues
Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship dynamics, or personal growth, I offer thoughtful, grounded, and results-oriented care.
Understanding Diagnostic Practices
The Role of Diagnosis
When necessary (e.g., for insurance), I provide formal diagnoses. That said, the DSM is a tool—not a full picture of your identity or potential.
Limitations & Labels
Diagnoses can be useful, but they can also become limiting labels. I’m careful not to reduce your experiences to a diagnosis. Your challenges are valid—but they don’t define you.
A Whole-Person Perspective
I use diagnostic frameworks responsibly, and only after thorough assessment. My focus is always on understanding you—not just your symptoms.
Psychodyamic Therapy
Uncover underlying patterns: Discover how past experiences influence your current behaviors and emotions.
Insight-oriented: Develop awareness of unconscious thoughts and feelings shaping your present.
Relationship-focused: Examine interpersonal dynamics to better understand their impact on your well-being.
-
I use psychodynamic techniques to address challenges like depression, anxiety, trauma, and relationship difficulties — issues that often show up for driven professionals as overthinking, self-doubt, feeling stuck, or struggling to connect deeply with others.
-
In our sessions, we’ll explore past experiences, work through unresolved emotions, and examine patterns in your relationships to gain deeper insights and promote healing. By understanding the roots of your current challenges, we can address underlying conflicts and support your journey toward personal growth.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT):
Thoughts: Recognize the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Challenge: Identify and reframe negative or unhelpful thought patterns.
Behavior: Develop practical skills to manage emotions and change behaviors that hold you back.
Goals: Set focused, achievable goals to guide your progress in therapy.
-
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help high achievers manage depression, anxiety, stress, behavioral challenges, and self-esteem issues. These often appear as self-doubt, constant worry, difficulty handling pressure, unproductive habits, or boundary struggles. Together, we identify and challenge these patterns, develop practical coping skills, and set clear goals to help you regain focus and confidence.
-
In our sessions, we’ll examine the triggers (antecedents), behaviors, and their consequences to understand how they affect your daily life and performance. You’ll learn coping strategies like cognitive reframing, behavioral modifications, and tracking your progress. Together, we’ll challenge unhelpful patterns, develop practical skills, and set clear goals to help you manage stress, anxiety, and self-doubt—empowering you to perform at your best with greater ease.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy:
Present-Moment Awareness: Learn techniques to stay grounded and focused on the present, reducing rumination and anxiety.
Self-Compassion: Develop a kind and accepting attitude toward yourself, fostering resilience and overall well-being.
Stress Reduction: Practice mindfulness exercises to manage stress, improve emotional regulation, and enhance mental clarity.
-
I use mindfulness techniques to help high performers manage clinical issues like anxiety, stress, and emotional dysregulation, supporting them in improving focus, maintaining clarity, and cultivating calm amid the pressures of demanding careers.
-
In our sessions, you’ll explore mindfulness techniques such as meditation, deep breathing, and body scans, choosing those that resonate and feel comfortable. We’ll focus on increasing your awareness of thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations.
The goal is to help you manage stress, build emotional resilience, and improve overall mental well-being. By integrating these practices into your daily life, you’ll cultivate a more present, balanced, and centered approach to life’s challenges.
Solution Focused Therapy Services:
Goal-Oriented: Focuses on what you want to achieve rather than what you want to eliminate.
Strengths-Based: Leverages your existing skills and resources to support growth.
Future-Focused: Concentrates on possibilities and desired outcomes ahead.
Brief & Efficient: Typically involves a limited number of sessions for focused progress.
Positive Change: Encourages small, manageable steps toward lasting improvement.
-
I use Solution-Focused Therapy techniques to help results-focused clients break through obstacles, sharpen goal-setting, and overcome barriers that hold them back. If you find yourself stuck despite your efforts or juggling competing priorities, together we’ll create clear, actionable steps to accelerate your personal and professional growth.
-
In our work together, we’ll begin by envisioning what you want to be different in your life. From there, we’ll identify tangible, practical steps to help you achieve those goals. By focusing on your strengths and resources, we create an efficient, forward-moving process that helps you overcome obstacles and make meaningful progress.
This approach is goal-oriented and time-efficient, designed to deliver results and empower you to take control of your personal growth.
